From Strategy Logic to Live Orders Without Manual Steps

A trading strategy has value only when it's executed consistently. Human execution introduces variance: you hesitate, you override, you miss a signal while on a call. The Practice of Boston automation engine eliminates that variance. You express your strategy as a set of conditions — price thresholds, indicator crossovers, time-of-day filters, volume triggers — and the engine monitors the live feed continuously, firing orders the moment conditions are met. Strategies are configured through a visual rule builder that requires no coding, or via the scripting interface for traders who prefer to work closer to the logic layer. Both routes produce the same compiled strategy object that runs identically in backtest and live modes.

How Automation Deployment Works

Once your strategy is configured, you assign it to one or more instruments, set your position sizing method (fixed lot, percentage of equity, or volatility-scaled), and activate it. From that point the engine takes over: it subscribes to the relevant live feed channels, evaluates incoming ticks against your rule set, and submits orders to your connected broker via the terminal's order routing layer. The slate-professional strategy monitor panel shows each active strategy's current state — waiting, in-position, or suspended by a risk rule — alongside its P&L for the current session. You can pause or deactivate a strategy at any time without closing open positions, giving you full manual override capability at every moment.

What the Automation Engine Delivers

Visual rule builder

Construct entry, exit, and filter conditions through a drag-and-connect interface. No code required — and the same rule set compiles to the scripting layer for advanced customization.

Sub-second order submission

From signal detection to order submission, the engine operates in under one second on standard hardware. Timing is logged per-event so you can audit every trigger.

Multi-strategy concurrency

Run up to 12 independent strategies simultaneously on different instruments, with isolated P&L tracking and independent risk rules for each — no cross-strategy interference.

“I had a momentum strategy that I kept second-guessing on fast days — always exiting too early or adding too late. After automating the exact same rules through Practice of Boston, I ran it for three months without touching it. The consistency was the result. My variance dropped and I stopped overriding good signals.”
