What Practice of Boston Is and Does
Practice of Boston develops and operates the Practice of Boston AI Trading Terminal — a software platform that enables independent traders to automate their trading strategies, monitor live market data, enforce structured risk rules, track portfolio performance, and simulate strategies against historical data. The product is a subscription-based desktop and web application. We do not manage money, offer investment advice, or act as a broker or financial intermediary. We are a technology provider: we build the tools, and our users supply the trading strategies and carry the market risk. The terminal is designed for traders who already have a defined approach to the markets and want software that executes that approach with consistency and speed.
Who Uses the Terminal and Where We Operate
Our primary users are independent retail traders and small proprietary trading desks in Slovenia and the broader Central European market, working across FX, European index futures, and equities. We founded the company in Ptuj in 2021 with a team that came from backgrounds in financial software engineering and quantitative strategy research — not from sales or marketing. In our first 18 months we built and shipped the core automation engine, the live feed integration layer, and the backtesting archive, focusing on depth of capability in those three areas before expanding the feature set. Today we serve traders from Ljubljana to Vienna who want a terminal built for automation from the ground up, not a manual platform with a “bot” feature added as an afterthought. Our interface uses a slate-professional visual theme — a deliberately low-distraction environment that keeps attention on data, not on decorative elements.
How We Work and What We Don't Do
The team works in a focused two-week sprint cycle. New features are shipped to all active subscribers simultaneously; there is no beta tier or staged rollout. We maintain written documentation for every terminal feature, updated within 48 hours of each release. Support is handled by the engineers who built the features — there is no first-line support team reading scripts. We have a deliberate scope boundary: Practice of Boston does not provide trading signals, does not supply pre-built strategies, and does not advise users on which markets or instruments to trade. The terminal is a tool for executing your strategy with precision and consistency. Results depend on the quality and fit of the strategy you bring — the terminal cannot compensate for a strategy that does not have edge in the market conditions you face. Market risk is borne entirely by the user.
